Unburied; a poem

Beneath the weight of earth, I lay,
buried deep where dreams decay,
where hopes dissolve like morning mist,
resigned to the place where pain persists.

But in that quiet, something stirred —
a whisper, soft, without a word,
a streak of light pierced through the soil,
an invitation to uncoil.

It spread across the sterile ground,
too vast for thoughts, too deep for sound,
a sweet perfume permeated the air,
as all was bathed in a searing glare.

The grass around me shimmered gold,
and all the weight I’d learned to hold,
began to lift, as if the sky,
had drawn me up, not asking why.

I rose to find that heaven’s glow
was not beyond, but here below,
it glimmered within, a quiet flame,
a love that nothing could contain.

A glow so bright it took my breath,
like heaven touching earth through death,
where love and grief entwined poured out,
dissolving every shred of doubt.

The field, the peace, the light was home,
no need to leave, no need to roam,
it moves my heart, steers all I do,
it’s peace within me, ever true.
